Mardi Himal Trek is a truly hidden treasure of the Annapurna region. Among all trekking routes around Annapurna, this one is relatively new and the least traveled one, making it the perfect route to experience the perfect comfort and tranquility in both body and mind. It is suitable for adventurous travelers who would like to experience something off the mainstream yet still love to see the beauty of the Annapurna range.

Mardi Himal trekking in Nepal features perhaps the best undiscovered landscapes of the Annapurna. You can explore the scenic beauty of iconic mountains like Machapuchare (also known as the “Fish Tail Mountain”), Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu. Our journey kicks off from Kande after an hour drive from Pokhara. Passing an initially steep trail, Following the winding trail to Mardi Himal Base Camp, you will pass through the splendid rhododendron forests, rice terraces, rivers and streams, Jhinu hot springs and Ghandruk villages.

Generally speaking, the ideal trekking season would be Spring (March – June) and Autumn (September – December). For Spring, with winter has just come to an end, the sky clear and the mountain tips covered by snow, it is a good choice for Annapurna Circuit Trek. For hills above 3,500m, they would be all covered by snow as well. There may be short showers, yet most days are warm and sunny. For Autumn, after the monsoon and before the cold sets in, this period is perfect to trek if you are looking for the paranomic view of the mountains. The sky is cloudless with lush plants shimmering under the gentle sunshine. Although the snow is less than that of the Spring season, it is the best time for the crystal clear view. The temperature is perfect as well – not scorching hot during the day and durably cool at night.

This 13-days  treks takes you to explore the best side of Annapurna in a private and relaxed manner. Our trekking package also includes the exploration of Pokhara, the place for natural tranquility. As the best city for leisure and entertainment in Nepal, it offers a large variety of adventurous activities for tourists, ranging from boating, horse riding to hiking and paragliding. You can retreat from the hustle and bustle life, sit back and have a sip of cocktail beside the calm Fewa lake with the Himalayan massif as the backdrop.

Our itinerary and cost can be very flexible based on the budget, group size, accommodation requirements and other special travel needs. Please kindly contact us for more details on a customized trekking .

Day 03: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi (1810m) and trek to Pothana (1925m)

After breakfast, we begin our journey by driving around 30 minutes to Phedi, the place we commence our trek. The trail may be a bit steep and physically challenging at the beginning, but the part after Dhampush is relatively relaxing with great scenery. You will cross different crop fields, some quaint villages as well as a jungle. Conserved by Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), this area is a true private and scenic haven. We shall reach Pothana after the 4-hour walk. Stay overnight at teahouse of Pothana.

Day 04: Trek from Pothana to Forest Camp (2600m)

Today after breakfast we leave Pothana and continue our journey on a plain flat route. After reaching Pitam Deurali, we leave the main trek and set foot on the road less traveled by with the pleasant view of oak trees, maple leaves and rhododendron forests along the way. After 4 hours, we reach Forest Camp and stay overnight at the lodge there.

Day 05: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp (3150m)

Today we trek for 4 to 5 hours from Forest Camp to Low Camp. As we ascend, the flora around also changes – denser and greener vegetation, more rhododendron trees and the best is yet to come. Take a rest overnight at the Low Camp overnight and prepare for the upcoming ascend tomorrow. At Low Camp, you can enjoy a view of the mighty Machapuchare.

Day 06: Trek from Low Camp to High Camp (3700m)

After breakfast, we leave Low Camp and continue our ascend journey. As we walk along the Mardi Himal ridge, we have a clearer view on the Machapuchare and the South Annapurna range. As we travel to a higher attitude, the flora is gradually replaced by a more barren land. Yet during this 4-hour trek, you may have the chance to encounter the Himalayan monal, the national bird of Nepal. At High Camp, you may have a closer look for the Machapuchare and Hiunchuli. Rest overnight at the teahouse at High Camp.

Day 07: Explore High Camp (Upper View Point - 4450m)

Today after an early breakfast, we hike up to the Upper View Point. This trail is steep and thus more physically challenging than the previous walks. The winding road starts at the bottom of a high hill, passing through a little pond and gradually becomes steeper and narrower. Reaching Upper View Camp, your hardship is rewarded by the stunning view of Himalayan panorama. You may have a clear view on Annapurna I, Annapurna south, Himchuli, Tent peak, Singachuli, Gangapurna, Machapuchare and needless to say, Mardi Himal. The whole trip takes about 5 to 6 hours, but the tranquillity and serenity of the place totally worth it. After that, back to base camp and stay overnight.

Day 08: Trek from High Camp to Siding (1750m)

Enjoy breakfast and have the last glance at the High Camp. Then, we walk back down to Low Camp, taking a different route from the one we traveled. Instead of going back to Forest Camp, we trek for 6 hours to Siding Village – a quaint traditional Nepalese village. Staying overnight there, you can have a taste on the most authentic Nepalese style of living.

Day 09: Trek from Siding to Lumre and drive back Pokhara

After a good rest at Siding, we walk for another 3 hours to Kumre. The trail is flat and easy. Along the way, you will pass through the village of Ghalel.
