The small town of Besisahar is located in the Lamjung District of the Gandaki Province in central Nepal. It is the district's capital and is located at an elevation of at least 760 meters above sea level. The village, which is surrounded by green hills and the Marsyangdi River, is the primary entry point for the Annapurna hiking route.

Although many travellers pass through Besisahar on their route to the mountains, this village is worth a visit. It is highlighted by friendly people, a relaxed lifestyle, and an exquisite setting. Besisahar is a great place to go, relax, and begin your Himalayan journey.

You can drive to Besisahar from Kathmandu, which is about 175 km. Including traffic, the trip takes around 6 to 8 hours. Kathmandu is an easy place to begin for trekking to the Himalayas because buses, microbuses, and private vehicles which can be rented travel to Besisahar via Mugling and Dumre

Ghalegaun is a beautiful village located in the Lamjung District. From Besishar, it is 18 km uphill and should be traveled by private vehicle. Many people visit Ghalegaun once they step into Besishar. It is a vehicle trip rather than a hike or a trek. The Gurung people living there will welcome you with their traditional dance and garland. You will get to try their authentic food and their cultural taste. It will be your pleasure to be there.

Besisahar is gateway to the Annapurna region trek same like Ghandruk and Nayapul. You will have various options to trek in the Annapurna region. Lets discuss in detailed for the best places to visit during your Besi sahar stay.

Annapurna Circuit Trek

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is famous for having the highest pass, which is 5,416 meters high. It is designed to provide you with a chance to see the breathtaking Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.

On this trail, hikers start their journey from Chame, finish in Muktinath, travel to Pokhara, and complete a full circuit of the Annapurna mountain range. Trekkers who wish to experience the abundance of nature, views, and breathtaking scenery may find this to be an interesting trek.

Hiking, expeditions in the mountains, and exploring Nepali villages and culture are all part of the Annapurna Circuit. You will have the opportunity to meet the local Thakali, Gurung, and Magar ethnic groups who live in the area. Additionally, the upper Annapurna region is a good place to explore Tibetan culture and lifestyle.

Nar Phu Valley Trek

The Nar Phu Valley trek is located in the Annapurna Conservation Area in the northwest of Nepal. It is one of the most exciting and daring hikes for the bold tourists. This area is a place of unspoiled beauty surrounded by ice-capped and spectacular mountains. Travelling through the high alpine valleys above Phu will leave you speechless, and those seeking more excitement will be satiated by the prospect of continuing their ascent to the Himlung base camp. The most unforgettable feeling will be crossing the Kang La pass, which is 5300 meters.

This valley resembles and feels like Tibet because it is located near high Himalayan passes. The famous Sate Gompa was built by Karma Thilen Lama, who is also recognised for having built 108 monasteries throughout the Himalayas. Located in the heart of the valley, which has a rich religious past, lies this shrine. In the valley, labour and life are regulated by the same customs that have endured for centuries.

Travelling in the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November), when the skies are clear and the weather is consistent, is the greatest option. The Nar Phu Valley Trek is a path that is appropriate for both seasoned hikers and those who like to explore the untamed and unspoiled Himalayan region, which is rich in culture and scenic splendour.

Tilicho Lake Trek

The Tilicho Lake Trek is a beautiful location in Nepal's Annapurna region that offers views of the stunning Annapurna mountains. The walk goes via Tilicho Lake, which is even more stunning because it is fed by glaciers.

The trip is both difficult and rewarding because it travels through chaotic terrain, rocky mountain peaks, and solitary high-altitude views. Even at that high elevation, the lake stays liquid during the summer seasons, and the mountains are reflected in its blue water.

Additionally, Tilicho has sacred significance for Buddhists and Hindus. Buddhists believe it was where the Buddhist saint Milarepa meditated, while Hindus believe it to be the holy lake Kag Bhusundi. Also you can combine the Annapurna Circuit with the Tilicho Lake Trek incase you want to cross one of the highest passes in the world which is higher than the Everest base camp.

Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the best seasons to visit Tilicho Lake because of the best weather and the safest trails. To reach this magical Himalayan excursion, planning and preparation are necessary due to the high altitude, remote location, good acclimatisation, and physical condition.

Pisang Peak Climbing

One of the most popular hiking peaks in Nepal is Pisang Peak, which is located in the Annapurna Mountain range above Pisang village in the Manang District. At its highest point, the peak rises to 6,091 meters (19,983 ft). In addition to offering a pleasant blend of trekking and mountaineering, Pisang Peak appeals to determined climbers who are seeking an exceptional level of adventure without the technical ascent.

To complete the Trekking Information Management System (TIMS) and climb Pisang Peak, the climber must get a permit from the Annapurna Conservation Area.

The spring and autumn seasons is the best. The valley's flowers and vegetation flourish during these times, adding to the area's beauty. Since there is little to no rain or snow, one can walk in the parks. Views of the mountains and the ever-shifting landscape are visible.

Trekking to Manang or Chame

The Annapurna Manang or Chame trek is an amazing adventure. Trekking to Manang offers a unique experience: you can see different ethnic groups while travelling through the villages, take in the scenery of the countryside and forests, and visit several historic Buddhist monasteries in Manang Village.

The trail leads you from the lower level, which is covered in flowers, to a side hilltop that is apparently desert overall but stunning in its own ways. Magnificent mountain vistas, the best of the Himalayan region's culture, such as the well-known Milirepa cave, or Manang village, the world's largest and tallest freshwater lake, are all within walking distance (2–3 hours).

Chame is the main town in the Manang district. It is typically the first significant waymark in the Annapurna Circuit Trek and stands at a height of roughly 2,670 meters. As Besisahar and Chame are connected by road, you could use it as an excellent starting point if you don't want to walk in low places.

Thorung La Pass is also approachable along the alternate Manang route, which connects to Upper Mustang and Muktinath. This path is frequently used by locals to transport their yaks and livestock. There are numerous stores, cafes, guesthouses, tea houses, and even a bakery in the town of Manang, which is a little bit of an old era.
