Overview

Lower Dolpo is an extremely beautiful hidden treasure and a remote trekking destination in Nepal. The major attraction of this area is Shey- Phoksundo Lake which is well known for its formation. This trek offers you exotic and memorable experience of lifetime. On the way further this trek we can see snowy peaks, ancient and classical isolated villages with rich wildlife living in it including and various Buddhist monastery and wonderful lakes. The people of this area are fairly warm-hearted with profound culture, traditions, norms and values. The cultural tradition is highly directed with Tibet. We can explore High and Isolated Himalaya valleys that has an attachment towards the Tibetan highlands. The major attraction of this trek comprises Shey-Phoksundo National Park, the largest National Park of Nepal. The other attraction of this region is Shey-Phoksundo. The lake is totally free of aqua life, which the crystal waters clearly explain. It is surrounded by rock, massive forests, and very much panoramic snow- capped peaks. This area has been described as one of the World's Natural Hidden Wonders. Commencing this trek you’ll get across Numala Pass and Bagala Pass which will be your challenged passes from where you can see magnificent panoramic bright views of Dhaulagiri range, Nilgiri, Kyangyu Ripa, Annapurna range and many other mountains along with it.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1360m). We assist you from international airport to our hotel. Rest overnight.

Day 2: Lower Dolpo Restricted area trekking permit preparation and briefing of Trek. We offer you a half day sightseeing tour to Kathmandu valley. Enjoy the sightseeing sites and explore the world heritage sites of Kathmandu valley. Rest overnight. 

Day 3: Today we drive a scenic ride from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Explore around and rest Overnight. 

Day 4: Today early morning scenic flight from Nepalgunj to Jhupal (2,320m) and then trek to Dunai (2,850m). We walk for 2-3 hrs. Rest overnight.  

Day 5: Trek from Jhupal to Tarakot (2,850m) walking for 5-6hours. Rest overnight. 

Day 6: Trek from Tarakot to Khani Gaon (2,543m) walking for 5-6 hrs. Rest overnight. 

Day 7: Trek from Khani Gaon to Tarap Khola (3,450m) walking for 4-5 hrs. Rest overnight. 

Day 8: Trek from Tarap Khola to Yak Kharka (3800m) walking for 4-5 hrs. Rest overnight. 

Day 9: Trek from Yak Kharka to Dho Tarap (4,090m) walking for 5-6 hrs. Rest overnight. 

Day 10: Rest Day at Dho Tarap for acclimatization. Explore around and enjoy the natural and cultural scenery of Nepal. Rest overnight. 

Day 11: Trek from Dho Tarap to Tokyu Gaun walking for 5-6 hrs. Rest overnight. 

Day 12: Trek from Tokyu Gaon to Numa La. Rest overnight.

Day 13: Today we Cross Numa La (5,190m) and then camp at Phedi. Rest overnight. 

Day 14: Today we Cross Baga La (5,070m) and camp on the other side of the Phedi (4,470m). Rest overnight. 

Day 15: Trek from Phedi to Ringmo (3,600m) walking for 6-7 hrs. Rest overnight. 

Day 16: Rest Day at Ringmo for a hike to Phoksundo Lake. Explore the scenic beauty of upper Nepal. Rest overnight. 

Day 17: Trek from Ringmo to chepka (2260m.). Rest overnight. 

Day 18: Trek to Jhupal. Rest overnight. 

Day 19: We take a flight from Jhupal to Nepalgunj. On reaching Nepalgunj, we return to Kathmandu on the next available flight. Rest overnight. 

Day 20: Rest day in Kathmandu. Enjoy evening farewell dinner and rest overnight. 

Day 21: Departure.

Useful Info

About Nepal Visa:

Nepal visas can be easily obtained from the Government of Nepal, Nepalese Embassy or Consulate office located in your country. You can get a visa from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on your arrival or from any other entry point in Nepal. Make sure to bring a few sets of your passport size photos. Visa fees are inexpensive.

You can also apply for a visa in a near embassy or either you can travel to Nepal and get a visa on arrival. We will assist you to settle your visa work too.

Accommodation in Kathmandu and Trek:

We offer you a star rated accommodation with comfort and cozy. You will be amused with the facility and warmth we offer you including facility like (attached bath, A/C, 24 hours running hot and cold shower). During the trek your accommodation is includes Mt. Lodge and local tea houses but we do our best for providing the best available lodges on a twin- sharing basis, some tea house are basic with shared washing and toilet facilities. If you are prefer a single room in Kathmandu and trek you may indicate your preference on request and pay a single supplement cost. Contact us

Meals and Drinking Water:

We provide you only Bb facility in city as preferred in itinerary. Full board meals are included (breakfast, Lunch and dinner with cup of tea or coffee) throughout the trek.  We provide you food from the local tea house Mt. Lodge en route chosen from a menu. Breakfast and dinner is to be provided from the same tea house we would overnight but lunch would be en route in between. You can enjoy the Nepalese style cuisine or any other continental food as per required. You are to be giver from pizza to snacks. Most teahouses offer a variety of rice and noodle dishes, as well as soup and seasonal vegetable. A variety of cereals, bread and egg dishes are generally available for breakfast.

Health and Fitness Required:

Health is the most important part of traveling or trekking. One must possess good physical condition before and while commencing Himalaya’s tour. If you don’t have any trekking experiences better grab one or be physically prepare for the trek. Before commencing adventurous trek you can commence a short hike, cycling or a short walking tour, this may help you a lot throughout the trek.

The highest height you will reach on this trip is 5545m from the sea level. The walk may be ups and down passing various villages, high land, wilderness and much more difficult and rough trail.

We strongly advise travelers to consult with your medical doctor before travelling and do the regular check up of your health and report us while booking a trip with us.

Guide and Porter:

Our porter are fully equipped and insured for each trip they are responsibility with us. As you know that we are very honest with the porter issues and their condition while on trek thus we make sure that our porter are fully prepared for the trip. We are closely working with international porter Progress Association for the welfare and befit for the touristic porters.

It is our company’s management system; the maximum load carried by our porter is 20 to 25 KG so be sure that your trekking bag is not loads more 20 KG.

Travel Insurance:

One of the most important factors of trekking is the travel insurance. To be sufficiently protected in terms of insurance, you will need specialized travel insurance for participation in risky activities.

Your travel insurance policy must be covers emergency evacuation, trip injury, lost baggage, medical treatment and expenses, theft, liability is recommended. Make sure the insurance covers all the activities that you will be undertaking your stay in Nepal such as trekking and climbing including others trip.

Group Size:
