Visit Tachog Lhakhang on the route to Thimphu to see the iron bridge. After that, travel to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital. Check into your hotel when you arrive in Thimphu, and spend the night there after touring the local markets in the evening.
On the second day, after breakfast in the hotel, visit the Towering Buddha statue, which is one of the highlights of Thimphu. Then, immerse yourself in Bhutanese culture by visiting the Bhutan Museum. Continue your journey toward Punakha, passing through the picturesque Dochula pass, decorated with 108 chortens (Stupas) in the memorial of the Soldier. Get up early on this day and head to Punakha Dzong, a famous Phuakha monument surrounded by the Pho and Mo Chu rivers.
After that, check into your accommodation and spend the remainder of the afternoon exploring the stunning city of Paro. When you arrive in Paro, check into your accommodation and then enjoy lunch. After breakfast, you will drive for 30 minutes to the Taktsang monastery trailhead. From there, you'll ascend through the forest to reach the Taktshang monastery, also known as Tiger Nest, which stands 3120 meters above sea level. Depending on your pace, the hike should last 5 to 6 hours. All Bhutanese consider this spot to be sacred, and they believe Guru Rinpoche meditated here while riding a tigress. When you first arrive, visit the Taktshang monastery, followed by lunch in the Taktsang café. Then, return in the afternoon and spend the night at the hotel, enjoying hot steam or a hot shower after dinner in Paro.
