Overview And Highlights

Mardi Himal Trek is one of the Annapurna Region's hidden gems when it comes to trekking. Where most people would trek to Annapurna Base Camp, you have the option of going around the map and getting off the beaten path. The Mardi Himal Trekking adventure takes you to the Mardi Himal base camp, which is located right in the laps of Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre(Fish Tail mountain).

Trekking in Mardi Himal Nepal offers some of the best undiscovered Annapurna landscapes. The scenic beauty of iconic mountains such as Machapuchare (also known as the "Fish Tail Mountain"), Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu can be explored. After an hour's drive from Pokhara, our journey begins in Kande. Following the winding trail to Mardi Himal Base Camp, you will pass through magnificent rhododendron forests, rice terraces, rivers and streams, Jhinu hot springs, and Ghandruk villages.

Highlights Of Mardi Himal Trek

  • Breathtaking panoramic views of Annapurna Range, Machapuchare, Dhaulagiri, and Hiunchuli.
  • Less crowded, providing a peaceful trekking experience.
  • Cultural immersion in Gurung and Magar villages.
  • Stunning Mardi Himal and Machapuchare Base Camp experience.
  • Diverse accommodation options - teahouses and camping.
  • Off the beaten path, away from commercialized routes.
  • Perfect blend of adventure and solitude in the Himalayan wilderness.

Best Time To Trek In Mardi Himal Trek

The finest seasons to hike in the Mardi Himal region are the pre-monsoon (spring) and post-monsoon (fall), which normally last from late February to early June and September to November, respectively. During the spring, the pathways are alive with blossoming rhododendrons, making the scenery colorful and lovely. The weather is typically consistent, with clear skies that allow for superb viewing of the neighboring peaks. Temperatures are mild, making for pleasant hiking conditions throughout the day, however evenings may be cool at higher elevations. This is also the best time to go climbing because there is less possibility of rain.

From September to November, the weather is dry and steady, providing beautiful sky and breathtaking vistas of the Himalayan peaks. The weather is also ideal for trekking, with pleasant days and chilly evenings. The paths are in excellent shape, and the post-monsoon season has left the sceneries lush and verdant. This is considered the peak trekking season in Nepal, with many trekkers seeking ideal weather and spectacular landscape. It is crucial to remember that the winter (December to February) and monsoon (June to August) seasons are less desirable owing to harsh weather and higher hazards of avalanches and landslides.
