Annapurna circuit short trek follows the deep valleys and canyons that continues through anti-clock wise route behind the 50km Annapurna massif. As we gain altitude, the lowland Hindu communities give way to Tibetan group and the geography changes into mountainous landscapes with magnificent views of Annapurna ranges.

The Upper Pisang to Bagra route is very rewarding with magnificent architecture and mind blowing view of Annapurna II and IV. Manang, the largest village of the region, has picture-perfect views of Gangapurna and Annapurna III.  Two days of rigorous hike to Thorong Phedi is followed by challenging and adventure climb to Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17,770ft) – a contrasting scenery. Climb down to Muktinath – a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists.

After exploring the temple and revered shrines of Muktinath, we move down the steep and arid hillside to Kagbeni. Kagbeni and Jomsom are small medieval village with closely packed mud houses and dark tunnels.

FAQs

Why is Annapurna Mountain famous among trekkers?

The Annapurna Circuit is a trek in central Nepal's mountain ranges. The entire length of the trip varies between 160 to 230 kilometres (100 to 145 miles), depending on where motor transit is deployed and where the trek ends. This trek traverses two river valleys and rounds the Annapurna Massif. The trail reaches the Tibetan plateau at its highest point, Thorung La pass (5416m/17769 feet). Most trekers use the anticlockwise route since the daily altitude rise is less and crossing the high Thorong La pass is simpler and safer. The Annapurna Massif (Annapurna I-IV), Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, and Paungda Danda may all be viewed up in close. The Annapurna range gives birth to several more peaks ranging in elevation from 6000 to 8000 metres. The trek begins in the Marshyangdi river valley at Besisahar or Bhulbhule and ends at the Kali Gandaki Gorge. Besisahar is around a seven-hour journey from Kathmandu. The walk travels through rice fields, subtropical woods, waterfalls, massive cliffs, and communities. The Annapurna Circuit was voted the best long-distance trek in the world because it combined a wide variety of climate zones from the tropics at 600 m asl to the arctic at 5416 m asl at the Thorong La pass, as well as cultural variety from Hindu villages in the low foothills to Tibetan culture in Manang Valley and lower Mustang in its original full form. The ongoing road development has shortened the route and altered the settlements. The trek begins in the Marshyangdi river valley at Besisahar or Bhulbhule and ends at the Kali Gandaki Gorge.
