Overview And Highlights

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a well-known Himalayan excursion that circles the Annapurna Massif. It has a variety of sceneries, including rich subtropical woods and high-altitude wilderness areas. Trekkers go through traditional villages, see spectacular mountain views, and cross the treacherous Thorong La Pass. The tour combines cultural immersion, natural beauty, and a sense of satisfaction in completing one of Nepal's traditional treks. The Annapurna Circuit is a must-see for anyone searching for a well-rounded hiking experience.

Short Annapurna Circuit trek is carefully designed package for those who don’t have enough vacation but still want to explore the Annapurna circuit via most popular Thorong La pass (5,416m). We follow the Annapurna circuit route and take a flight back to Pokhara from Jomsom instead of trekking all the way down to Pokhara.

Annapurna circuit short trek follows the deep valleys and canyons that continues through anti-clock wise route behind the 50km Annapurna massif. As we gain altitude, the lowland Hindu communities give way to Tibetan group and the geography changes into mountainous landscapes with magnificent views of Annapurna ranges.

The Upper Pisang to Bagra route is very rewarding with magnificent architecture and mind blowing view of Annapurna II and IV. Manang, the largest village of the region, has picture-perfect views of Gangapurna and Annapurna III.  Two days of rigorous hike to Thorong Phedi is followed by challenging and adventure climb to Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17,770ft) – a contrasting scenery. Climb down to Muktinath – a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists.

After exploring the temple and revered shrines of Muktinath, we move down the steep and arid hillside to Kagbeni. Kagbeni and Jomsom are small medieval village with closely packed mud houses and dark tunnels. This itinerary can be customized as per your requirements.

Highlights Of Annapurna Circuit Trek

  • Landscapes vary greatly, from subtropical woods to alpine pastures.

  • Views include verdant slopes, terraced farmland, and rhododendron woods.

  • Crossing Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters (17,769 ft), one of the world's highest hiking crossings.

  • Visits to traditional communities that have distinct architecture and cultural customs.

  • Pilgrimage location in Muktinath, a holy Hindu and Buddhist temple.

  • Natural gas fires and 108 water spouts considered holy by pilgrims.

  • Visiting pristine lakes such as Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world.

  • Chance to spot rare wildlife like snow leopards, Himalayan tahr, and various bird species.

Best Time To Visit Annapurna Circuit Trek

The ideal time to go on the Annapurna Circuit trip is between the pre-monsoon (spring) and post-monsoon (autumn) seasons, which typically last from late September to November and March to May, respectively. During these times, the weather is fairly favorable, providing clear sky and excellent visibility for enjoying the spectacular mountain views. Spring, from March to May, is highlighted by the flowering of rhododendron woods, which adds color to the environment. The temperatures are mild, making it an excellent time for trekking. Similarly, from late September to November, autumn offers crisp, chilly air and consistent weather conditions, assuring a delightful and successful trekking trip. Trekkers may see the stunning scenery, from rich terraced fields to high alpine meadows, without the inconvenience of heavy rainfall.

While the Annapurna Circuit is open during the winter months, the walk becomes difficult due to frigid temperatures, precipitation, and the possibility of high mountain crossings being closed. In contrast, the monsoon season, which lasts from June to early September, brings torrential rain, making the routes treacherous and undoubtedly dangerous for hiking. Thus, to get the most of the Annapurna Circuit while also ensuring a safe and fun journey, booking a visit during the spring or fall seasons is highly recommended. During these most suitable periods, hikers may enjoy the region's pleasant weather, colorful vistas, and overall tranquillity.
