Phulchowki Hiking is a day hike (1-hour drive followed by 4-5 hours of Hike) to the nearest 2760m-high mountain. Phulchowki (Pul: Flowers; Chowki: Garden), the garden of flowers, located 14 kilometers Southeast east of Kathmandu is widely famous for flora and bird watching.

Phulchowki Hiking is a day hike (1-hour drive followed by 4-5 hours of Hike) to the nearest 2760m-high mountain. Phulchowki (Pul: Flowers; Chowki: Garden), the garden of flowers, located 14 kilometers Southeast east of Kathmandu is widely famous for flora and bird watching. The hill boasts 570 species of flowering plants and 1/3rd of bird species in Nepal. During spring, the hill is fully covered by Rhododendron, the national flower of Nepal presenting the trail at its best. On reaching the top of the hill, the Phulchowki Mai shrine is present with Tibetan prayer flags giving the spot a religious touch. Besides the natural trail, the top point offers the panoramic mountain view of Annapurna to Gaurishankar Range.
Ideally, the itinerary takes you to Godawari in a private car at a distant of 14 kilometers to start the hike. Hiking in Phulchowki is a mild hike for 4-5 hours through the sub-tropical forest. On reaching the top, you can enjoy the lunch with scenic Mountain View. Spending an ample amount of time on the top hill, we can descend downhill and take a car ride back to Kathmandu.
We suggest you prepare yourself with water bottles and snacks for the way as there are not many facilities on the same. One day Phulchowki hike from Kathmandu is rated excellent with friends, family, and kids having a limited amount of holiday time and seeking freshness from the hustle of Kathmandu.
Phulchowki Day Hiking Outline
Hotel Pick up; Drive to Godawari (45 mins); Hike up to Phulchowki Mai (3-4 hours); Lunch at Hill Top (1 hour); Descend to Godawari (2 hours); Drive back to Kathmandu (45 mins)
7 AM:
Our guide will come for pick up to your hotel or we can gather in our office. After a brief overview of the hike and the places covered, we drive to Godawari Botanical Garden (14 km) in 45 minutes.
8 AM:
Spend 30 minutes in the Botanical garden and prepare yourselves with a water bottle and snacks if needed.
8.15 AM:
General processing; registration and entrance fee payment to start the hike
8.30 AM:
Hiking through the sub-tropical forest enriched with flowers and bird watching,
1.00:
Lunchtime and sightseeing at the top. Visit to Phulchowki Mai shrine
2.00 Pm:
Descend downhill to Godawari
4.00 PM:
Drive back to Kathmandu at your preferred location.
