Overview And Highlights

Hiking from Sundarijal to Kapan gumba in one day offers you an incredible opportunity. In just one day you’ll get to explore the beauty of the nature, culture, art, and tradition of the country’s capital. Shivapuri is itself a very interesting place because Kathmandu Valley receives daily water deliveries of several hundred thousand cubic meters from Shivapuri National Park, a crucial water catchment area. The Sundarijal water supply is crucial for the generation of hydroelectric power. And talking about the Kapan Gumba, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal, close to Boudhanath is the Tibetan Buddhist monastery known as Kapan Monastery. It was once the headquarters of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, a global network of Gelugpa dharma centers.
Start near the entrance to the Shivapuri National Park (Sundarijal).
Morning:
Entrance to Shivapuri National Park: Start your hike from the entrance to Shivapuri National Park, which is close to Kathmandu. There may be an entrance fee to enter the park. After hiking for a few minutes you will pass the Sundarijal Water fall, check post, and water reservoir.
The route to Kapan Gumba passes through luxuriant oak, pine, and rhododendron forests. The trail ascends steadily and is well-marked.
Midday: 3. You will hike for 5/6 hours passing beautiful forests, villages, and Tare Bhir.  After taking in the sights and potentially passing Tare Bhir, continue on your trip down to Kapan Gumba. You will pass past terraced fields, tiny towns, and other lovely woodland regions on the walk.
Reach the tranquil Buddhist monastery known as Kapan Gumba, which is situated in Kapan. Spend some time wandering the grounds of the monastery, taking in the serene ambiance, and perhaps joining in any ongoing rites or prayers.
