First Impressions of Nepal

Nepal, the land of the majestic Himalayas, timeless traditions, and warm-hearted people, welcomed me with open arms in October 2025. My family and I spent ten unforgettable days exploring this enchanting country Nepal that sits so close to Bangladesh, yet feels like a whole new world.

Smooth Arrival & A Comfortable Journey for a Hijabi Traveler

Nepal is one of the easiest destinations for Bangladeshis to visit. With a visa on arrival and smooth immigration procedures, traveling there was stress-free. Within just 30 minutes, we were through the Nepal immigration checkpoint, a great start to our adventure.

As a Muslim Hijabi girl, I felt completely comfortable throughout my journey. Despite Nepal being a Hindu-majority country (about 81%), there was never a single moment of discomfort or discrimination. Halal food was widely available, so I never had to worry about what to eat. Everywhere we went, the people were respectful, kind, and incredibly honest.

Kathmandu & The Soul of Nepal

Our 10-day tour was organized by Adventure Vision Treks and Travels, led by their wonderful CEO, Jiban Bhai. From hotel bookings to transportation, everything was perfectly arranged. We began our journey in Thamel, Kathmandu, where the rhythm of Nepal’s heritage beats strongest. Narrow streets lined with colorful prayer flags, tiny shops selling handmade crafts, and the aroma of momos in the air, Thamel felt like a window into Nepal’s soul.

A Dreamy Morning in Nagarkot

On the third day, we left for Nagarkotearly in the morning. The drive itself was an experience, winding roads that climb high into the clouds, with every turn revealing breathtaking views.

Our hotel, Hotel View Point, stood at an altitude of 7,200 feet. From our balcony, we could see the Annapurna mountain range in all its glory. Watching the sunrise over the snow-capped peaks from our room was one of the most magical moments of my life.

That night, we joined a local festival filled with music, dance, and laughter, a glimpse into the joyous spirit of Nepali culture.

Pokhara

After breakfast, we began our journey to Pokhara, an 11-hour drive that was long but beautiful. The roads have improved a lot, making the journey smooth and scenic.

We stayed three nights at Hotel Rosemary Kitchen, a cozy and welcoming place. On the first day, we explored the city and later visited Taapu Restro & Cottage, a charming riverside retreat where we enjoyed several fun activities.

The next day, we took a boat ride on Fewa Lake, surrounded by serene mountains reflected in the calm water. Later, we rode the Sarangkot Cable Car to the viewpoint, one of Nepal’s best places to watch the sunset and see the Himalayas up close. The view from Sarangkot left us speechless; the golden rays on the Himalayan peaks felt like heaven on Earth.

Back to Thamel

We returned to Thamel for the last leg of our journey, staying at Sacred Boutique Hotel. The family room was spacious, comfortable, and filled with warmth, not just from the cozy décor but from the kindness of the staff. They treated us like family, and their hospitality is something I will cherish forever.

Nepal is More Than a Destination

Nepal is more than just mountains and temples. It’s a country of smiles, simplicity, and sincerity. The people are genuine, the culture rich and colorful, and the landscapes breathtaking. Beyond popular destinations like Nagarkot and Pokhara, Nepal hides countless gems waiting to be discovered, tranquil villages, ancient monasteries, and scenic trekking routes that tell stories of peace and perseverance.

Until We Meet Again, Nepal

I’ve made up my mind that the next time I visit Nepal, I’ll go trekking with Adventure Vision Treks and Travels to explore its hidden wonders. Because once you visit Nepal, you don’t just see it. You feel it.
